Library Technical Services Director implements use of technology for library technical services operations. Develops policy and plan regarding materials acquisition budget, cataloging, serials and electronic licensing. Being a Library Technical Services Director requires a master's degree. (Part-Time Position 19 hours per week, Monday-Friday flexible day schedule)
The Library Assistant will be responsible for assisting Technical Services in person at the Sidney Silverman Library Paramus location. The successful hire will process all library physical materials for Paramus, the Meadowlands and ELRC locations including binding loose leaf textbooks and repairing damaged library materials; check in print periodicals and update local holdings; maintain the Bound Periodicals, Current Magazines and the Law areas; perform withdrawal and transfers of library materials and update item or bibliographic records; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent; one year library experience required; experience using a multi-faceted integrated library system or equivalent. Must be detail oriented with excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills; have an ability to work well within a team as well as work independently; demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite programs; basic computer trouble-shooting skills.
