Library Services Manager manages the daily planning, staff, and operations for the acquisition, classification, maintenance, licensing, and distribution of print and digital materials to meet the information needs of library users. Coordinates process to research, review, identify and procure new materials to develop the library's collection. Being a Library Services Manager performs cataloging and creates bibliographies and metadata to classify the library's collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials. Develops and oversees support, service, and technology resources to ensure that groups and individuals can access requested materials. Additionally, Library Services Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Library Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Library Services Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Maxor is currently seeking an experienced Manager Desktop Services to join our Corporate Systems & IT Services team. The Manager Desktop Services will be responsible for the strategy and execution of Maxor’s IT Desktop Services and the customer experience with IT. This manager will lead and manage the Desktop Services team, represent the team to other stakeholders, and help to ensure that Desktop Services is constantly developing and improving. They will work with our stakeholders to reduce currently redundant / decentralized activities to enhance service delivery to staff for operational IT needs. They will develop a culture of customer-centric service that ensures we are exceeding the expectations of our highly diverse IT stakeholders.

     

    Position Location

    This is a remote-based position where you will work from your home office.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage teams that triage, analyze and resolve software and/or hardware problems with computer systems.
    • Manage teams that provide advanced technical assistance and support.
    • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other computer and telecommunications equipment.
    • Manage teams that research, analyze, and recommend appropriate computer hardware for customized computer configurations.
    • Obtains competitive bids from vendors for purchases and follows the purchase through from approval through receipt.
    • Reviews, prioritizes, and processes problem reports; documents the progress of projects.
    • Oversee service requests, incidents, and problems. Manages and coordinates urgent and complicated support issues. Act as escalation point for all requests and incidents.
    • Develop and mature phone/ticket escalation processes to ensure free flowing escalation and information within the organization. Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers.
    • Interact with internal and external customers.
    • Maintains hardware/software inventory control to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Develops an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization. Maintains regular attendance in accordance with established policies.

    Qualifications

    Education:                             

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical/vocational experience is required.

     Experience:                           

    • 10 years of hands-on IT technical support experience
    • 3 years of supervisory responsibilities.

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Possess outstanding communication, customer service, and support skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage challenging circumstances and personnel.
    • Ability to manage a team charged with supporting the organization 24x7x365.
    • Ability to empathize with end-user support challenges and champion end-user needs within the IT Department and across business units.
    • Ability to develop service and business level agreements to set expectations and measure performance. Provide data and reporting of SLA’s and trends to IT department and others in ad-hoc, weekly, monthly, and as needed.
    • Ability to synthesize support data and produce management reports and dashboards that drive measured organizational and/or IT Department changes.
    • Ability to analyze support ticket trends and reports and adjust service levels to the organization.
    • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, and communications.
    • Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects.
    • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
    • Ability to develop internal training plans to enhance support teams knowledge and create growth opportunities.
    • Ability to build and maintain client and internal relationships to drive mutually beneficial solutions and drive positive client experiences.
    • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of the team.
    • Manage the process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization.
