Library Services Coordinator oversees library service offerings designed to meet the needs of a specific user population. Ensures resource availability and implements new programs to meet service gaps. Being a Library Services Coordinator assists groups and individuals in locating, delivery, and obtaining materials. Establish and maintains cooperative agreements between the college and area libraries. Additionally, Library Services Coordinator graduates from an ALA-accredited school. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Library Services Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Library Assistant is responsible for assisting patrons with checking out and receiving library materials using the Library’s computerized circulation system; locating books and other materials for patrons of all ages; registering patrons for library cards, assisting patrons in using the library’s public computers and all electronic resources; help answering questions using the Internet, online databases, and/or other sources; making minor repairs to books and other library materials; locating and routing library materials as requested by other branches; sorting and shelving books as needed; may occasionally assist with senior, adult and youth programs; other duties as assigned.
