Library Borrower Services Coordinator duties include but not limited to
·Leads staff in creating and implementing annual goals and objectives reflecting City and Library Department vision to ensure quality customer service to internal and external customers.
·Assists branch management team with daily operations. Serves as a member of a collaborative branch management team
·Communicates in a variety of formats with staff and customers to foster dialog and feedback.
·Prepares and contributes to staff meeting agendas and leads discussions to explore continued improvement opportunities, solicits feedback, and promotes teamwork.
· Participates and leads panels to interview, evaluate and select candidates.
·Contributes to an environment that promotes inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
·Responds to internal and external customers in crisis by identifying concerns by using independent judgements, discretion, problem solving and critical thinking negotiation skills to determine appropriate resolution.
·Develops and fosters a process improvement environment by encouraging ideas, identifying trends, and evaluation processes and data.
·Develops mechanisms to improve and implement system procedures, policies, and services
·Identifies building maintenance and equipment problems to determine course of action or solution to ensure safety, security, and comfort of internal and external customers.
·Documents accident, personnel, and incident reports to comply with City, State and Federal guidelines.
·Leads, facilitates, and participates in City and department teams to develop strategic plans, resolve problems, and improve current processes.
·Prepares monies for library opening and closing. Resolve problems concerning cash and credit transactions.
·Prepare and review reports for reconciliation of cash transactions.
Performs supervisory duties over staff assigned to the Borrower Services unit including scheduling of staff, distributing assignments, reviewing work, and monitoring office procedures to ensure efficiency and quality of work; provides training to staff; conducts performance appraisals, approves timecards, and grants leave. This includes working with the Automated Materials Handling machine, circulating technology and more.
