Library Services Coordinator oversees library service offerings designed to meet the needs of a specific user population. Ensures resource availability and implements new programs to meet service gaps. Being a Library Services Coordinator assists groups and individuals in locating, delivery, and obtaining materials. Establish and maintains cooperative agreements between the college and area libraries. Additionally, Library Services Coordinator graduates from an ALA-accredited school. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Library Services Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. 1. Check materials in and out using integrated library system (Atriuum).
2. Organize, straighten, and shelve books.
3. Plan and lead STEM programs for children and tweens.
4. Assist patrons in locating materials, opening new accounts, and answering factual questions in person, by phone and email.
5. Must have basic computer and printer knowledge, including being able to troubleshoot issues and assisting patrons as they use the computers.
6. Handle money and operate a cash register.
7. Be willing to help out with special projects like sorting donated books as needed.
8. Keep library clean, organized and inviting.
Ideal Candidate:
Someone friendly and organized, who is willing to go the extra mile to make the library an inviting and easy-to-use space. A high school diploma is required. Previous library experience preferred. Must be available to work some Saturdays.
