LIBRARIAN jobs in Irving, TX

LIBRARIAN develops and maintains a collection of books and other materials and provides research and reference support to library users. Researches publications and suggests new sources and offerings for acquisition to enhance the collection. Being a LIBRARIAN performs cataloging and creates bibliographies and metadata to classify the library's collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials. Designs and delivers research support processes and services to ensure that groups and individuals can access requested materials. Additionally, LIBRARIAN distributes up-to-date information on new acquisitions, library activities, and services. Oversees the selection and maintenance of technology infrastructure and tools used in the library. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The LIBRARIAN occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Ability to assist staff and students in the selection of appropriate materials to support units of instruction

    Ability to work with parents providing outreach, literacy information, and family reading materials

    Ability to work with students in scheduled literacy and literature activities

    Ability to work with teachers in collaboration for effective learning opportunities

    Ability to use and work with varied technology for educational purposes
