Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of machine tool setup and operation experience in a job shop environment, utilizing complex documentation and verbal/written instruction
Knowledge and working experience on a Vertical and Horizontal Mill
Strong knowledge of machining principles, tools, and cutting parameters
Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
Strong attention to detail with ability to focus on a given task
Enthusiastic about learning new skills and technology
Effective time-management tactical approach to work prioritization
Read, speak, and write the English language
Good communication skills
Responsibilities
Work Hours: 5:30am to 4:00pm Monday - Thursday
Overtime available on Friday
The CNC Mill/lathe Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming the following machines:
Haas lathes: SL 20, SL 30 and ST 30 Y
Haas Verticals: VF2, VF3, VF4, VF5,
The primary focus will be machining steel components according to engineering drawings, specifications
Additionally, expected to use expertise in g-code programming to optimize changing processes and ensure the highest level of productivity and quality
Setup and operation of manual machine tools are required in support of CNC operations
Organize, stage, and move materials as required
Evaluates and requisitions purchased tooling and supplies
Prepare and setup the CNC mill/lathe for machining steel carbon components, including loading raw materials and fixtures into the machine
Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies and industry regulations
Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to ensure a smooth workflow and successful completion of projects
Mentor and train other machine operators
Distinguish warning signs and potential problems to prevent machinery issues
Train other operators in proper instrumentation usage and care
