Ensures adherence to regulations, bank credit policies, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lending Officer work is closely managed.     POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
    The Business Development Officer is responsible for generating new loan growth for the assigned business lines Lending division in our defined markets. This position will be responsible for developing relationships with Lenders and Brokers that will result in those entities referring loans to Republic Bank.  
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
     Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial institution is required.
     Minimum of 5 years sales/new business development experience required.
     Strong understanding of the assigned business lines landscape and the ability to identify and cultivate a pipeline of prospective dealer and broker accounts preferred.
     Demonstrated ability to effectively manage existing loan portfolio and assess profitability.
     Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet applications.
     
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
     Develop and participate in a sales calling plan to develop sources of loan originations from the various assigned business lines dealers/brokers in the defined market.  
     Maintain consistent referral sources and retain this referral base through regular calling/entertainment initiatives to strengthen personal relationships.
    Solicit sales from new and existing clients through individual business development efforts and from referral sources (COIs/Brokers/Direct Client Relationships)
     Keep apprised of evolving market conditions and performance of the entire portfolio.
     Support all other departments of the Bank and maintain a cooperative and professional relationship with all bank associates.
     Learn the credit culture of Republic Bank in order to present appropriate credits for approval.  
     Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.
     Model and foster behaviors that support the Bank’s values and corporate culture creating an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability, and dedication to the organization.  
     Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, and distance vision.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
     
    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  
     Travel between Republic Banking facilities to dealers/brokers, is required.
     Significant out-of-town travel is required.
     Flexible work schedule that will include some evenings and weekends.
     Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
