Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Reporting Structure:

    The Legal Recruitment Director reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO), fostering strong collaboration with Practice Leaders, Marketing/Branding, and Human Resources.

    Direct Support:

    This role is directly supported by a Legal Recruitment Coordinator, tasked with optimizing administrative functions such as interview scheduling, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, paperwork management, report generation, and new-hire onboarding.

    Position Overview:

    The Legal Recruitment Director leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the firm's comprehensive legal recruitment strategies. This includes coordinating lateral partner, associate, and summer associate recruitment programs, as well as managing attorney-focused recruitment campaigns and fostering relationships with law schools, legal associations, and recruitment agencies.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify immediate and long-term talent acquisition needs aligned with business objectives.
    • Monitor recruitment trends to devise innovative strategies for attracting top-tier candidates while staying abreast of industry best practices.
    • Develop and execute a dynamic 3-year legal recruitment strategic plan with actionable milestones and key performance indicators.

    Candidate Sourcing:

    • Proactively identify candidates through various channels including internal referrals, digital platforms, targeted campaigns, and legal search firms.
    • Partner with the Marketing Team to enhance the firm's brand presence across targeted law schools and legal communities.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to identify content development opportunities for digital and social media platforms to augment recruitment efforts.
    • Actively engage in industry events, conferences, and meetings to represent the firm within legal recruitment circles.

    Process Management:

    • Screen and shortlist potential lateral partner/associate candidates for review by the CGO and relevant Practice Leaders.
    • Conduct thorough analysis of lateral partner questionnaires, flagging areas requiring further examination.
    • Ensure accurate and timely distribution of interview packets, containing essential materials for both interviewers and candidates.
    • Coordinate interview logistics with local offices, including on-campus interviews as needed.
    • Oversee the summer associate program to provide a comprehensive experience across multiple practice areas and firm culture.
    • Maintain an up-to-date legal recruitment database and ensure compliance with search firm agreements.
    • Collaborate with the Firm Recruiting Partner and Legal Recruitment Coordinator to generate official offer letters and other necessary hiring documents.
    • Enforce firm-wide policies and protocols for newly recruited attorneys in conjunction with the HR Team.

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctorate strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years in a recruiting role, preferably within the legal sector.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on persuasive presentation abilities.
    • Advanced understanding of effective legal recruitment methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term plans within specified timelines and budgets.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and GenAI.
