Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Legal Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     We are looking for a hard-working, independent, and friendly person to fill a full-time position of Paralegal/Legal Assistant in our Legal Department. We are hiring a civil litigation team member to work in a high production team environment, working with attorneys in the preparation of legal forms. The work environment consists of working with a small team of paralegals and legal clerks producing legal documentation in the enforcement of judgments.

    Principle Responsibilities of the Paralegal include:

    • Communication with different courts
    • Communication with attorneys
    • Legal research
    • Drafting correspondence, motions, and pleadings
    • Production and assembly of legal documents and forms
    • Document review
    • File court documents through e-file
    • Maintaining legal calendar
    • Data entry
    • Conduct verification of service and judgment
    • Copy and prepare legal documents to comply with court standards
    • Performs skip tracing and maintains case files
    • Filing, photo copying, scanning
    • Obtain information from files, law enforcement agencies and other sources to submit complete legal documents
    • Produce documents within Microsoft word, and Excel, ensures proper formatting, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
    • Demonstrate a keen knowledge of office equipment (including computer, printers, facsimile, photo copiers)
    • Demonstrate compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the collection industry
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Law office/;egal experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of Civil Procedure, Discovery, court rules
    • Paralegal Certification preferred or on the job experience in the legal field
    • Paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Strong proofreader for grammar, spelling and punctuation
    • Experience preparing legal documents (forms)
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to prioritize tasks
    • Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and organize work
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

    Required education

    · High school or equivalent

    • Paralegal Certification preferred or on the job experience
