Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000 plus $4,200 yearly stipend. Salary commensurate with
experience.

strategy and organizational culture. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human
resources, including recruitment, staff development, engagement/retention, performance
management, and employee relations. This role requires a leader who is innovative,

Within the first year, create and implement an exceptional HR program, embodying our
values and driving organizational change.
2. Collaborative Strategic Leadership:
As part of our senior leadership team, work in tandem with other senior leadership to
develop HR strategies that enhance employee growth, retention, and recruitment, while
championing our mission.
3. Thoughtful Performance Management:
Design and establish a comprehensive performance management system within 6
months that emphasizes continuous development through coaching and aligns with our
goals.
4. DEI Advocacy and Integration:
Co-lead DEI initiatives in conjunction with CLS’s DEI Committee and leadership, ensuring
these principles are deeply integrated into all aspects of HR and organizational practices.
5. Comprehensive HR Management:
Oversee HR processes with a focus on harm reduction, compliance, effectiveness, data
collection and analysis, and alignment with our organizational values and our collective
bargaining agreement, while providing empathetic guidance and training to staff and
management.
