GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION:

We are currently seeking a Leasing Consultant to join our team in Chico, CA. The Leasing Consultant is the property's sales representative whose primary duties are to greet prospects, to present professionally the features and benefits of their assigned community and property, and secure lease agreements from qualified persons. A Leasing Consultant is service oriented and strives to make current residents and perspective residents feel welcome and comfortable in their community.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to apartments.
• Maintain a professional, but friendly atmosphere in the leasing office.
• Greet prospective residents, determine their needs and preferences, and professionally present community and show apartments suitable to the prospect's needs while communicating features and benefits.
• Answer incoming phone calls professionally and handle accordingly.
• Complete all lease applications; verify employment and rental references.
• Accurately and promptly complete all paperwork related to perspective applications and leases.
• Maintain accurate resident files in accordance with company policy. Update daily reports. concerning notice to vacate, vacancy reports, activity reports, etc.
• Inspects models and move-in ready vacancies.
• Maintain daily property advertising materials.
• Accept rents and deposits.
• Light maintenance and cleaning.
• Keep filing up to date and orderly.

Qualifications:

• Skilled at providing a variety of clerical support duties using designated systems, processes and procedures.
• Ability to read, speak and write English language proficiently to communicate with customers, Manager and co-workers, comprehend and follow instructions and make entries on reports and records.
• Proficient skill in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Frequent documentation by handwriting. Must have neat and legible handwriting.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills are required.
• Great with people — warm, friendly and helpful in person and on the phone
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Must be able to climb stairs.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be adaptable to changing office environments.
• Must be organized.
• Customer service experience preferred
• Must be available weekends.
• This is not a live on site position and you are not required to live at any of our communities to be eligible for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour
