    Eaton's Bussman division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer.

    This role is based in our La Grange, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

    What you'll do:

    Position Overview:
    This position is responsible for designing, implementing, improving, and maintaining processes in the assembly and molding departments. You will lead and support research and development of new technologies and techniques, as well as coordinating new product launches.

    Essential Functions Include:
    • Monitor, improve, and maintain processes in area of responsibility
    • Develop safe work methods that result in a high level of quality and work balance, improved efficiency, and waste reduction
    • Identify cost reduction opportunities through scrap analysis and technology applications
    • Create and update work instructions, process drawings, process alerts, routings, control plans, standard work, and related documents
    • Improve the reliability and capability of equipment
    • Champion Lean Manufacturing including A3, Value Stream Mapping, and set up reduction
    • Respond to corrective actions and drive continuous improvement
    • Conduct time studies and implement solutions for bottleneck improvements and line balancing
    • Lead project management of cross-functional teams, such as Safety, Controls, Maintenance, Material Delivery, and Operations for process changes and necessary training
    • Evaluate, update, and improve PFMEAs per APQP guidelines, work instructions, and job safety analysis
    • Develop and test improved fail-safe strategies through part design, 3D printing, and testing
    • Participate in capital planning, investigate equipment alternatives, prepare appropriation justifications, implement equipment, and evaluate results
    • Support goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Flex Productivity

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
    • Minimum three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Minimum one (1) year experience in the molding industry
    • Minimum one (1) year experience with automation of manufacturing
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a , US Permanent Resident (i.e. ""), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Expertise in materials, tools, machines, and approaches for different molding technologies, including thermoset compression, thermoset/thermoplastic injection, and transfer molding
    • Previous experience with Industry 4.0
    • Previous experience with CNC machining operations, lean tools, blueprint reading, measurement systems, and engineering product management
    • Design experience using ProEngineer or related CAD systems
    • Understanding of PLC logic and controls, such as Siemens and Fanuc
