Lean Manufacturing Specialist assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes. Being a Lean Manufacturing Specialist employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Specialist also requires training and Lean certification through an accredited organization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Lean Manufacturing Specialist typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience working in manufacturing environment; Experience using measuring equipment; Prior experience in Quality Control and familiarity with ISO or TS standards preferred but not necessary; Ability to follow instructions.
Description of Duties:
Performs in-process inspections and visual inspections; Records inspection findings on the SPC System; Reviews Quality Control Worksheets to ensure that all data is being recorded properly; Takes necessary actions to stop production should parameters of process, visual defects or nonconforming product be identified; ; Participates in internal sorts of nonconforming product; Ensures that the “First-In, First-Out” (FIFO) concept is being used by all departments for inventory rotation; May perform some duties outside these listed depending upon special situation or workload. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. Other duties as assigned.
