Lean Engineer
Acme Manufacturing has an opportunity available for a newly created Lean Engineer position! This position has an anticipated salary range of $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually and is eligible for our full benefits package. This is a full time & salaried position that will work on-site at our facility in Denver, Colorado, with occasional travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Cullman, Alabama. This position will drive our Lean process goals to optimize production by mapping our production processes, hosting continuous improvement events, and finding ways to reduce waste.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually (depending on experience).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the chief operating officer, this position will serve as the primary resource for Lean manufacturing process improvements. The overall success of this position is dependent on optimizing our production processes and reducing waste.
Additional duties include but are not limited to:
- Partnering with Executive leadership to develop strategic goals and direction needed to continuously enhance operations and production.
- Analyzing and mapping our existing processes.
- Presenting data-informed options to improve our manufacturing processes and warehouse operations.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes.
- Conducting safety training.
- Reporting process metrics and trends routinely utilizing analysis tools to determine process effectiveness.
- Serving as the Lean subject matter expert for facilities in Colorado, Alabama, and Pennsylvania.
- Developing motivational and safety programs.
Who we are seeking in an applicant:
In order to be successful in this role you will need to have a working knowledge of Change Management and a functional understanding of Lean Principals as they pertain to manufacturing. We are seeking a candidate with a 4-year degree relevant to manufacturing, business, engineering, project management, or leadership, and at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or continuous improvement functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment (experience can be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis). This position will need to be filled by an effective communicator and analytical thinker, as process improvements will need to be documented, measured, and presented.
Other desired skills and experience includes:
- Experience implementing, training employees on, and measuring the effectiveness of Lean Programs.
- Reviewing employee morale and developing motivation programs.
- Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, including 8-Disciplines of Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, SPC, 5-S, Pull systems, SU reduction, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen, and Process Qualifications.
- Functional knowledge of OSHA requirements, Industrial Safety good practices, ergonomic process design.
- Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
- Full working knowledge of Lean Concepts with demonstrated success in applying them.
- Must be able to travel.
- Six-Sigma process experience is a plus!
