POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler operates and rotates responsibility within semi-automatic and manual work cells that assemble and package components including packaging and material handling of product to standards.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and interprets schedule, backorder report and add-on sheets to support requirements.
• Responsible for set-ups, assembly and packaging of valve bodies, plumbing supplies and service parts per schedule, while maintaining established production and quality standards and safety procedures.
• Orders and receives components as needed.
• Retrieves component parts for use from other areas, maintains components in work area.
• Packages completed assemblies from area and delivers to staging areas.
• Makes visual inspections of components / finished good for quality purposes.
• Perform material handling functions as needed.
• Cross train and perform in other work centers as needed to meet customer demands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must maintain good safety practices, and good organizational skills.
• Team oriented, works well with others.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Self-directed
• Good attendance and work record
• Able to perform repetitive motions with both arms and hands.
• Able to stand while performing work for extended periods of time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• High attention to detail
• Good basic math skills
