Established MRO Company in Freeport, NY seeking motivated technician.
Airmarine / Airlift Hydraulics is considering applicants for positions as “MRO” Maintenance Repair Overhaul technicians. We are an FAA Certified Repair Station serving commercial and military sectors since 1960. Our focus is on landing gear and hydraulic components. We are located in Freeport NY (10 minutes from the Southern State Parkway/Meadowbrook Parkway intersection) Candidates should have the following experience and skill sets, but “OJT” On the Job training will be available.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Inspection – Perform visual inspections (corrosion, pitting, damage, wear) and dimensional inspections (using basic measuring instruments ie ID/OD micrometers, Dial Bore Gauges and calipers. Experience with NDT (optional)
Assembly – Install bushings into subassemblies using thermal techniques, hydraulic presses and application of corrosion compounds. Experience with hydraulic test bench operations (optional).
Light Machine/Production Operations – Operate Sunnen vertical and portable hones to finish assembled in line bushings pairs. Deburr using high RPM hand held grinders/Dremel to perform local blends on steel and aluminum components. Operate abrasive blast cabinet units to clean and prep units. Experience with shot peen or rotary flapper peen (optional).
Basic Administration – Complete internal in process work travelers, inspection reports and inventory tracking documents.
Basic Maintenance Functions – Routine maintenance of machines and tools used in the performance of MRO activities.
