Laundry and Drycleaning Machine Operator/Tender sets-up and operates a conditioner machine that semi-dries and untangles flatwork. Prepares clothing articles for ironing. Being a Laundry and Drycleaning Machine Operator/Tender may require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Laundry and Drycleaning Machine Operator/Tender relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications in preparation for washing.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Open customer returned soil bags (bags weigh ~45 ), discard plastic, spread product out to allow for visibility on soil belt. Pre‐sort classifications as required. Production standard are 45 bags or 2000 lbs. opened per hour for each operator.
- Operators located on the work platform float between multiple positions moving up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots.

If an attendant sees something in the soil bag other than regular items, they must dispose of it
- Call maintenance for repair of equipment if something is not working
- Tag broken carts for maintenance to repair
