Laundry Manager manages the daily operations of a laundry services department. Assigns and reviews the work of laundry employees engaged in receiving, washing, ironing, packaging and delivering laundry to various departments or guests. Being a Laundry Manager may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a hotel manager. The Laundry Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This position is part-time. The hours are 3pm-11pm (or earlier if laundry is caught up). Days to work are primarily Friday through Monday but will vary depending on guest occupancy and the amount of laundry. Responsible for the upkeep and smooth functioning of the laundry department. The laundry attendant should possess knowledge of all equipment and how it operates. The position also works closely with housekeeping to ensure proper inventory levels are supplied to the floors in a timely and efficient manner.
