Laundry Manager manages the daily operations of a laundry services department. Assigns and reviews the work of laundry employees engaged in receiving, washing, ironing, packaging and delivering laundry to various departments or guests. Being a Laundry Manager may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a hotel manager. The Laundry Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications in preparation for washing.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Open customer returned soil bags (bags weigh ~45 ), discard plastic, spread product out to allow for visibility on soil belt. Pre‐sort classifications as required. Production standard are 45 bags or 2000 lbs. opened per hour for each operator.
- Operators located on the work platform float between multiple positions moving up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots.

If an attendant sees something in the soil bag other than regular items, they must dispose of it
- Call maintenance for repair of equipment if something is not working
- Tag broken carts for maintenance to repair
