The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Our Lexington, Kentucky office is seeking an accomplished, highly motivated Landscape Designer / Architect with strong design skills to support a wide range of planning, urban design and landscape projects. The Urban Design & Planning/Landscape Practice works on a wide variety of integrated public and private landscape architecture, urban design and planning projects, both for our own clients as well as in support of other Practice Areas within the firm.
    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a good sense of humor and ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with many people at all levels of the firm. Required qualifications include the following:
    Background/Education
    • Must have an accredited graduate/professional degree in Landscape Architecture
    • Landscape Architectural Registration, LEED accreditation and/or AICP certification are advantageous in our firm but not required
    • 2-5 years of previous experience in a design office environment is highly preferred
    Knowledge and Skillset Required
    • Experience producing construction documents and specifications for landscape architecture projects, including hardscape, landscape, grading, construction details and planting design
    • Strong AutoCAD skills are a must
    • Additional software skills required (or ability to quickly learn) include: Affinity Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit
    • Proficient with a variety of rendering, modeling and hand drawing techniques
    • Strong landscape and urban design skills including: open space design, streetscapes and mobility, site planning, master planning for development, small area/community planning, campus planning (strong portfolio required for consideration)
    • Must be comfortable in community and public settings and in collaborative design environments
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • In addition to Landscape Architecture, candidate demonstrates interest and skills in urban design (in all settings), community planning/design, architecture, sustainability and placemaking
