Landscape Architect Manager supervises all related activities of a staff of landscape architects and technicians. Oversees, manages, and schedules the development of exterior spaces and physical environments, the development of schematic designs and construction details, and is ultimately responsible for final project. Being a Landscape Architect Manager requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Typically reports to a top management. The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Role

    The Landscape Architect will work closely with the Sales team to create high-end, complex projects of various scopes, sizes and styles across the Kansas City Metro area. The successful candidate will be able to assist with business development efforts and management of clients while leading a team through all phases of the project lifecycle. You will work primarily at your design tale in the office and be in the field for potential on-site meetings as your designs go from idea to tangible.


    The Team Member We Need

    The ideal candidate is a self-starter and needs minimal direction to execute project work while mentoring, developing, coaching, and overseeing junior designers all while delivering high-quality design solutions. We need someone who is growth oriented and who understands and enjoys networking and developing business.


    Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited to

    • Interpretation of client needs in support of creating unique, trendsetting designs
    • Manage and or delegate preparation of design presentation to include site measurements, initial concepts, drafting, hardscape and plant material selection and attending client meetings
    • Understanding the permitting process, estimating jobs to fit client budgets and creating construction documents
    • Produce and/or review all necessary documents for creative and accurate designs and their implementation.
    • Commitment to keeping an eye on new developments and products in the industry
    • Generate new vendors and sub-contractors through networking, research and referrals

    Preferred Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape/Horticulture Design or related discipline is preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years landscape design experience
    • Proficient use of Dynascape or similar product, 3-D renderings, Excel and other MS Office software; knowledge of Aspire is a plus
    • Ability to be organized, proactive and prioritize multiple tasks both independently and with the team
    • Experience in Business Development
