Landscape Architect Manager supervises all related activities of a staff of landscape architects and technicians. Oversees, manages, and schedules the development of exterior spaces and physical environments, the development of schematic designs and construction details, and is ultimately responsible for final project. The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This associate directs the activities of associates engaged in landscaping, servicing, and maintaining residential and commercial property. This associate interacts with the design team, maintenance and enhancement staff, and administrative support on a regular basis.

    Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

    · Reviews work orders to determine work priorities. Effectively schedules resources, materials, and equipment to ensure meeting client due dates.

    · Plans, develops, documents and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, reduce costs, and finds the most effective way to use labor and equipment.

    · Manages associate performance through timely performance appraisals and the effective use of corrective discipline measures.

    · Reads and interprets landscape design prints and job-specification work orders. Directs associates accordingly.

    · Directs the job site training of associates to improve work performance.

    · Reviews production and quality reports and modifies procedures and processes as necessary.

    · Prepares reports on job progress, materials used, and costs for management review.

    · Implements and monitors safety programs.

    · Interacts with clients by answering questions and resolving concerns.

    · Operates a variety of mechanical equipment, vehicles, and tools.

    · Works as a member of a crew as necessary.

    · Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed.

    Requirements:

    · Ability to work in a team environment, including taking direction and constructive feedback from team members, as well as providing feedback to other team members.

    · Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of associates and clients.

    · Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients and Rapoza associates on a consistent basis.

    · Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.

    · Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.

    · Demonstrate working knowledge of general computer functions, ability to operate Service AutoPilot, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office programs.

    · Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    · This position requires a high school degree or GED, plus four year’s experience in the landscaping/hardscaping field.

    · The successful individual will have a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices and standard construction practices.

    · Strong oral communication skills, job planning skills, math skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must.

    Certifications:

    This position requires that the individual be certified and licensed (or aggressively pursuing) as follows:

    · MCLP, MCH, CLP, MCA, ISA, or any other applicable horticultural designation.

    · Valid Drivers license

    Work Environment

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands outlined are examples of the type of demands the associate will encounter on the job site.

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the MA RMV driver license requirements.

    The job site conditions described below are examples of those conditions an associate encounters while performing the essential responsibilities of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities.

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.

    In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. The associate may also occasionally be exposed to the homeowner’s pets.

    Working Relationships

    The associate will work closely with the President, team leaders, members of the crew, administrative staff, and clients.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
