  • Responsible for managing all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation design associated with planning and construction of new subdivisions from concept through construction acceptance. Primary Responsibilities: Oversee the design, completion, submittal and approval of landscape and hardscape plans in accordance with division goals Review landscape and hardscape design documents, site plans, improvement plans for project coordination and accuracy Direct consultants in the preparation of construction documents and other deliverables Collaborate with land development and entitlement project managers to design landscape and hardscape in accordance with community vision and budget Develop project budgets during feasibility and manage construction bidding and contracting efforts Analyze and review site plans for efficiency and consistency with community vision Coordinate with municipalities and other government agencies from permitting to final acceptance Coordinate contractors, inspectors, landscape architects and engineers Develop and maintain division landscape architecture standards/specifications Establish quality assurance and organization of design packages; monitor landscape design efforts to meet project schedules Management Responsibilities (if applicable): Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent Delegates work according to employee’s abilities and skills Evaluates employee’s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance Provides developmental opportunities through identification of internal and external training opportunities Creates opportunities for employee growth Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors) Scope: Decision Impact: Division Department Responsibility: Single Budgetary Responsibility: Yes Direct Reports: Yes (if applicable) Indirect Reports: Yes Physical Requirements: If applicable Required Education: Minimum Associates Degree in Landscape Architecture, Land Planning or Equivalent Valid Driver’s License because driving is an essential function of this position.
