Kaart is hiring for a Landscape Architect!
We are searching for a landscape architect with a keen eye for detail and excellent negotiation skills to join our team.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating rough drawings and more sophisticated landscape plans and construction documents with design programs such as CAD and Sketch-up.
- Presenting proposals to teams and working through project expectations with clients.
- Preparation of necessary documents for projects.
- Analyzing complex reports and using the knowledge to aid in design or plan success.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with builders, clients, and governmental planning staff
- Working to communicate with and to all fellow project professionals; architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.
- Directly responsible for the examination and/or preparation of plans to ensure proper content, form, and compliance with Colorado revised statutes and local regulations.
- Administers the establishment and maintenance of critical documents.
- Preparation of all planning submittals.
- Speaking to community members and gaining local insight.
- Creative thinking and problem solving to new and unique challenges to a project.
- Demonstrates a respectful attitude towards customers and coworkers that promotes teamwork, open communication, and effective customer service.
- Exercises appropriate level of initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Strong knowledge of principles and practices of landscape architecture and determining best practices for each project.
- Solid proficiency with contemporary landscape architecture methods and software.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations that pertain to licensure, planning, and design.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A good creative flair and imagination.
- Ability to interpret design plans, review for accuracy, and adjust for timely project completion.
- Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfort in presenting to crowds.
- Proven ability to complete all technical aspects of a landscape architecture task.
- Knowledge of all facets of landscape construction; irrigation knowledge is a plus.
- Experience producing contract documents for construction
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Practical experience in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office; other graphics software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited school.
- Experience researching local regulations and requirements.
- A valid Colorado driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles.
Preference will be given to:
- Three (3) years or more of experience as a professional landscape architect.
- A Colorado Professional Landscape Architecture license, as stated in the Colorado Revised Statutes. *If unlicensed the team can sign off on your plans but it is expected that you will be licensed within no longer than 2 years.*
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Pleasant demeanor
- Comfort in presenting to crowds
- The ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch is required.
- The ability to visually differentiate between colors and grayscale to read plans and work in AutoCAD
JOB TYPE:
This position requires 40 hours per week, occasional evening presentations, occasional travel.
PAY:
Starting salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity. Submit portfolio with application.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
