Azimuth Renewables is a national utility-scale solar energy developer, based in St. Louis, MO

The Solar Landman, Midwest will help Azimuth Renewables to further expand our portfolio of utility-scale solar energy development assets in the Midwest. This position requires a combination of real estate expertise, written and verbal communication skills, business development efforts, and negotiation skills.

This position is based in Azimuth’s of St. Louis, MO office and reports to the Director of Solar Development, Midwest Region. The ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to this location, however remote candidates will also be considered. This position is required to travel at approximately 30% of the time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Successfully originate site control agreements (land lease or purchase options) for utility-scale solar energy facilities with rural landowners
• Manage on-going relationships with landowners through design and financing to secure additional support as needed for easements, zoning support, and title curative work
• Manage internal and external resources (engineering, finance, legal, environmental, etc) to successfully develop projects
• Structure overall projects and manage development through financial close/start of construction
• Maintain an overview of the relevant business and competitive environment, including regulatory and environmental legislation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in real estate development, engineering, economics, business, or a related field
• 1-3 years’ experience in land origination or infrastructure project development, solar or wind preferred
• Relevant experience successfully permitting facilities on agricultural property including cell phone towers, oil & gas, power generation facilities, or other commercial/industrial operations
• Strong public speaking skills – comfortable representing projects at community meetings and zoning hearings
• Demonstrated analytical skills and commercial savvy
• Independent work ethic/self-motivation and demonstrated leadership ability ideally in a development role overseeing multiple project/transactions simultaneously
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers including senior leadership
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Adobe, etc.)
• Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization
• Knowledge of electric utility industry in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
