Land Surveyors Manager manages and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues. Being a Land Surveyors Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Land Surveyors Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Land Surveyors Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Land Surveyors Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Job Description:
- 24 hours per week only.
- Communicates project status to Utilities Engineering staff. (To Annie, Shawnette and Alex)
- Reviews boundary / topographic surveys for County property to meet the following requirements:
- Survey Standards of Practice and the Minimum Technical Standards.
- Meets 2016 ALTA/ACSM Standards.
- Meets Orange County Real Estate Management requirements.
- Performs quality control of horizontal and vertical coordinates for property corners.
- Plot legal descriptions using Professional surveying expertise, mathematics and available software.
- Research, track and report of recorded plats.
- Update of county databases.
- Review, comment, or approval memo of Lift Station Surveys and Sketch of Descriptions,
- Processing, review, and documenting of proposed annexations.
- Processing, review, and documenting of Petitions to Vacate requests.
- Support to review surplus items related to surveying.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a PSM
- Experience with utility water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure
- Experience reading and using construction plan drawings, legal descriptions and interpretation of aerial photographs.
- Experience with GPS and Trimble GPS units
Work hours:
- 8 am to 5 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- CLP Lunch period -: 12 pm to 1 pm
Additional information:
- Need candidates with a Professional Surveyor’s License
- Work from Office and Remote allowed
- Standard Background Check Required
