Land Surveyors Manager manages and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues. Being a Land Surveyors Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Land Surveyors Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Land Surveyors Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Land Surveyors Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • T&M has an exciting leadership opportunity for a Department Manager in our Site Development Department in New Jersey! A Department Manager will lead multiple teams of technical staff, primarily managing local Group Managers directly, while also guiding technical staff and coordinating overall completion of technical deliverables and attainment of business outcomes across the region.

    This Department Manager can be located in any of T&M’s New Jersey offices including Middletown, Toms River, Mount Laurel, or Bloomfield, and will be leading Site Development teams in North, Central, and South Jersey.

    This role also provides the opportunity to engage with market leaders to help set business plans for the Site Development practice and maintain alignment between these teams and the overall company strategy.

    Additional responsibilities may include client management, engagement on business development efforts, and collaboration with peer leaders across the company to support the team’s collective success.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineering manager to expand team management experience and assume a leadership role within a growing company.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Required. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
    • 15-20 years of related experience with technical aspects of land development, including managerial experience.
    • Candidate must be fully versed in local and state design standards and land use regulation as relates to site / civil engineering design.
    • Candidate must have experience managing all aspects of large land development projects, including budgeting, design, testimony, client engagement, etc.
    • Must possess relationships within the broader development community and demonstrate a strong track record of managing and completing successful land development projects.
    • Candidate must have demonstrated business management experience, including workload forecasts, business planning, attainment of KPI’s, invoicing / collections, recruitment, and staff development.
    • Strong leadership skills, including team-building, collaboration, and participation in strategic planning.
    • Well-organized, collaborative, self-motivated candidate with an ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and work both independently and within a team environment.
