Land Surveyors Manager manages and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues. Being a Land Surveyors Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Land Surveyors Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Land Surveyors Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Land Surveyors Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    The work you will do

    • Project management and serve as a client liaison including meetings with existing and new clients
    • Project planning, scoping, budgeting and QA/QC
    • Preparing proposals, budgets and working closely to assist in winning new work
    • Managing preparation and review of plans, details, specifications, and bidding documents
    • Review of regulatory permits for projects
    • Complete technical reports for projects
    • Developing clients to help grow the coastal engineering services market
    • Design of coastal and waterfront infrastructure projects
    • Mentoring of younger staff

    Qualifications

    What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

    • We are looking for someone self-motivated with a desire to be hands on with the ability to be a seller/doer
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required, master's degree preferred
    • 9 years of experience including coastal and waterfront, client management, and project management required
    • Professional Engineer license required
    • Regulatory and Compliance experience required
    • Prior experience in consulting preferred
    • Possible experience with funding and grants preferred
    • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
