This position plans, develops and implements the State's agricultural land management programs. Its responsibilities involve managing workflow, project assignments, and deliverables for the agricultural land programs; proposing rules and regulations relating to the management of agricultural lands; agricultural land use planning and other resources under the jurisdiction of the State; and formulating program goals, policies, and objectives, including budgetary and staffing requirements. He/she directs, through subordinate supervisors, land management activities involving appraisals, acquisitions, leasing, exchanges, land title records maintenance, and other related activities.
In addition, this position may independently perform highly specialized land acquisition reviews; conduct negotiations or studies involving title, boundary, hazard removal, safety and public access; initiate and manage contracts for consultants and other specialized services; and performs other activities related to resource management, real estate, and/or asset management.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Specialized Experience: Four and one-half years (4-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in land and/or real property management and negotiations, land use planning, and real property valuation and/or legal experience conducting land transactions such acquisitions, swaps, easements, rights of way, joint ventures; and negotiating, resolving and/or participating in the mitigation of land disputes, compliance violations, or lease collections.
Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of supervisory work experience which included: (1) planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult work problems; (4) training and developing subordinates; and (5) evaluating their work performance.
Administrative Aptitude: Applicants must possess administrative aptitude.
