Summary:
The Engineering Designer plans, designs, and oversees construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of a Licensed Engineer.
Responsibilities:
· Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer.
· Plan or design structures in accordance with environmental, safety, and local regulations.
· Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structures or system and material requirements.
· Craft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects, and ensure conformance to specifications.
· Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
· Analyze proposed site factors and design maps, graphs, tracings, and diagrams to illustrate findings.
Skills and Experience:
· Education in the field of Architecture or related field, and/or architectural work experience.
· Proficiency with AutoCAD, and knowledge of other related software
· Knowledge of architectural construction document practices and principles, including detailing.
· Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
· Willingness to learn new skills and processes.
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
· Energetic and self-motivated.
