  • JOB PURPOSE

    The purpose of this position is to support BURNCO’s construction materials business through oversight of permitting activities, data acquisition & analysis, conducting exploration activities, site support and compliance, stakeholder relations, and participating in land management deliverables.

    EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

    • Provide technical services expertise in mining business pursuits, gathers relevant data, and performs deposit pre-feasibility analyses.
    • Analyze resources and reserves at all sites for use in strategic planning and reviews of reclamation accruals, depletion rates, depletion forecasts, and material qualities during each mining phase.
    • Participate in mine planning, site development including annual stripping programs as well as reclamation planning and execution.
    • Coordinate with drillers, geologists, and other subcontractors to manage exploration projects.
    • Develop and review plans, permit submissions and reporting as required in support of ongoing permitting activities and requirements.
    • Conduct land and aerial surveys, operate drones and related software.
    • Maintain organized data management system to encompass legal documents, permits, mine plans, water leases, and any other relevant data.
    • Stakeholder relations for current and prospective sites.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to work independently analyzing large volumes of data and variables.
    • Ability to summarize data clearly and concisely for decision makers.  
    • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously and ability to adapt to unexpected changes and/or new barriers
    • Ability to stay motivated and on task without direct supervision.
    • Can work in a variety of work settings including office, aggregate or ready-mix plants, and rural mountainous locations.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office applications.
    • Drone experience a plus.
    • Mapping software (ArcGIS, Drone Deploy, Propellor, etc.) a plus.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Formal education in Mining/Civil/Environmental Engineering preferred.
    • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

    • 25% locally, regionally or nationally

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly sits for long periods of time, stands, walks, types, and occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
    • Employee primarily works out of office at a plant location but is mobile between other various other work locations.

    Rate or Range: $85,000 and up

    Bonus Eligibility: 10% of base salary potential in the Short-Term Incentive Program (STIP)
