Lactation Consultant provides lactation support and education to patients and families. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Clinical Professional Development Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional aptitude for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility.

    What you will do in this role:

    • Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel
    • Conducts orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment. Incorporates organizational values/culture into the orientation process
    • Identifies learning needs of staff and assesses practice gaps, comparing competencies to actual practice. Plans educational content with learner engagement
    • Partners with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data to evaluate and refine aptitude management activities
    • Demonstrates an expertise of adult educational theory and the ability to apply evaluation methodologies, (i.e., Kirkpatrick) into courses and curriculum to refine clinical programs

    What qualifications you will need:
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
    • Neonate Resuscitate Required
    • Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Required
    • Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
    • Lactation Consultant Experience is Required
