Lactation Consultant jobs in Minnesota
Lactation Consultant provides lactation support and education to patients and families. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Lactation Consultant to join our Family Birth Centerteam! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary: This certified lactation consultant provides education, support, and guidance to new mothers at Methodist Hospital through inpatient classes and consults as well as in an outpatient clinic setting.
Work Schedule: Casual position. Mostly day shifts, some evenings and weekends along with helping in Lactation Cafe coverage in the clinics.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
- BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
- Must have IBCLC certification
