Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking a Site Occupational Medical Director to provide managerial and technical leadership for the on-site Health Services Clinic at Berkeley Lab, overseeing staff and ensuring a safe workplace for employees and affiliates. This includes planning, directing, and managing health examination programs and technical initiatives, while integrating ES&H requirements to encourage compliance.
The Site Occupational Medical Director collaborates with EHS Leadership to set the strategic direction for its occupational health and wellness programs, develop performance measures and identify performance improvement initiatives to improve medical care and services. This high-profile role interacts with all levels of personnel and management from the Director's Office, Laboratory Directorate, Department of Energy and external regulatory and accreditation agencies. In addition, this position will also work with research and development divisions to deliver cost-effective, customer-focused services supporting world-class science.
Berkeley Lab has a dynamic workforce of about 4,000 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $1.4 billion. The University of California (UC) manages Berkeley Lab for the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Science.
