Laboratory Services Director manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Services Director plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Services Director orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Lab Quality Coordinator to work full time days at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This position will require travel to other Sentara facilities in the Hampton Roads area.

    The lab quality coordinator will be responsible for the management of processes to support ongoing compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards system-wide. Interfaces and collaborates with leadership, medical and laboratory staff to establish and implement ongoing compliance, survey readiness, and to meet accreditation and compliance goals. Researches and obtains clarity of standard compliance requirements while keeping leadership informed on progress.

    Qualifications:

    - Bachelors level degree

    - ASCP or AMT certification

    - 5 years of related experience.
