Histology Laboratory Assistant

Reports To:
Histology Supervisor

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (40 hours/week). Overtime may be required on occasion

Job Description:

• Responsible for distribution of slides to pathologists timely and accurately.
• Perform weekly equipment maintenance as scheduled.
• Learn new tasks as needed to contribute to workflow efficiency
• Adheres to standard operating procedures
• Adheres to laboratory safety procedures
• Ensures laboratory area is in proper state of readiness and cleanliness
• Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor
• Keeps current with changes in pathology procedures
• Daily assignments are completed within eight-hour shifts
• Seeks assistance as necessary from Supervisor
• Maintains good interpersonal relationships with co-workers and with people in general
• Capable of performing a variety of tasks within the scope of job duties and adherence to CAP regulations

Required Qualifications:

• Computer literacy
• Laboratory or medical experience preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working with and around chemicals and must follow all safety protocols

Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Experience:

• Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
