Overview
The Director – Laboratory Core Services, serving Riley Hospital, University Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and the Pathology Laboratory, has the responsibility of planning, organizing, and administering all the hospital's laboratory services in cooperation with System Leaders & Regional Laboratory Directors. This leader will direct and coordinate activities of lab professionals, technicians and non-technical team members in diagnostic work and treatment of patients. Along with laboratory directors and system laboratory leadership, the incumbent will manage ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. They will work as a System Services laboratory leadership team member to identify best practices for the system including but not limited to laboratory technology and instrumentation, physician satisfaction, quality and regulatory, lean transformation and budget optimization. This role interfaces with leadership and front-line team members, executes organizational development strategy, and drives change initiatives across the system that are consistent within the laboratories to optimize organizational potential and achieve strategic and operational objectives. This Leader will partner with senior administrative and clinical leadership to evaluate and execute internal and external strategic partnerships in alignment with the aforementioned goals.
