Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Position Overview:
As the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic planning, development, and oversight of all laboratory operations. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory services.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor and optimize workflow processes to enhance productivity.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of laboratory professionals.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision.
- Develop and manage the laboratory budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality of service.
- Collaborate with medical staff, department heads, and administrators to enhance cross-functional communication and coordination.
- Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other hospital departments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in laboratory services.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
