Laboratory Services Director manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Services Director plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Services Director orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Performs analysis of incoming waste to confirm profile requirements. Perform internal analysis of samples from plant systems to confirm conformance with proper operating limits. Perform analysis of residuals from incineration process for the determination of land disposal restrictions.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
    • Perform analysis of all samples as specified in the laboratory operations and procedures manuals
    • Operate and maintain various laboratory instrumentation
    • Assist chemists and managers in the completion of sample analysis

    Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or an Associate degree in a science related field with a minimum of 1 year of environmental/industrial laboratory experience or High School Diploma or its equivalent with 5 years of environmental/industrial laboratory experience required.

    Knowledge and Abilities: Know and understand the fundamentals of chemistry. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

    A post offer drug screen will be required.
