Laboratory Services Director manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Services Director plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Services Director orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. This position provides leadership and directs the training, development and supervision of laboratory personnel; plans and schedules the activities of the laboratory; assumes responsibility for the proper application of policies and procedures; and operates the laboratory on a cost-effective basis. The incumbent is accountable for the accuracy and reliability of all services provided by the laboratories under his/her supervision.
Required Work Experience:
A proven performance record managing a hospital laboratory, with at least 2 years of management experience.
Physical and Mental Requirements:

The base salary range for this position is $115,000-150,000, plus yearly bonus. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
