Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. SDL is seeking applicants for a program manager position supporting the Advanced Warfighting Capabilities Branch at Headquarters USSPACECOM in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful applicant will be responsible for contributing to the examination of USSPACECOM’s mission needs and the analysis of solutions across a range of operational, scientific, and technical topics. Applicants need to have knowledge and experience in a variety of technologies related to space system operations, development, command and control, or test and evaluation. You’ll be part of a larger team composed of USSPACECOM staff, external partners, scientists, developers, engineers, and operational personnel. Experience working in a DoD command headquarters staff environment, or a space system program office is a plus. A technical background is essential and operational space experience is highly desirable.
