    We are seeking a skilled IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to drive efficiency and innovation at The Jackson Laboratory. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze existing business processes, design and recommend improvements, and align solutions with organizational goals. Your expertise will be crucial in creating better processes, maturing business capabilities, and ensuring seamless software implementation. As a BSA, you'll bridge technology and business needs, making a significant impact on our organization.

    This role involves facilitating, planning, coordinating, analyzing data, and documenting (IT and) business processes and requirements - all while applying ITIL, Service Management, and quality/continuous improvement frameworks and best practices. The role involves planning for Laboratory platform functionality - especially ServiceNow.

    To accomplish this, you will leverage proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with innovative workflow and data integration techniques. Your role will involve addressing business process challenges, resolving issues, and offering informed guidance on options, risks, and impacts related to both business processes and technical architecture.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead requirements, business process definition and design sessions with decision makers, systems owners and end users in defining new and existing workflows and applications for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information flow
    • Facilitate planning sessions and document requirements and business process flow
    • Apply best practices IT Service Management, ITIL, LEAN, and other frameworks as applicable
    • Create system design proposals, models, specifications, diagrams, to provide direction to developers. Design functionality for applications, record producers, catalog items, workflows, data sources, scripts, user forms, notification design, and integrations
    • Participate in application and process issue investigations, document findings; identify probable causes and make recommendations for resolution (including RCA/CAPA)
    • Oversee small to medium-sized implementation projects
    • Participate in and facilitate components of IT process deployment projects including documentation, development, training, Management of Change, and communications/marketing
    • Support the health of ITSM process and applications - monitor & reporting of health & performance KPIs, facilitate user testing, ensure that critical data is well managed, provide user support & training for applications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
    • At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing, designing, development and/or deployment experience with ITSM or similar platforms
    • Strong experience and working knowledge of ITSM, ITIL framework, Agile, and enterprise IT projects in an enterprise context
    • ITIL Foundation Training (certification preferred)
    • Knowledge and experience of the DevOps and Agile delivery desirable
    • Demonstrable track record using and supporting ITSM platforms and business process workflows
    • Able to travel to CT and ME campuses several times per year

    Desired Skills

    • Strong experience with one or more core software applications, including applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), IT Service Management (ITSM), HRIS Applications and/or Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) applications
    • Extensive experience with business and technical requirements elicitation, business process modeling
    • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software & hardware solutions, systems, or products - ideally ServiceNow
    • Experience writing ITSM Process, Policy, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), SIPOCs, RACIs, Work Instructions and/or process workflows
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills to work in a complex collaborative environment requiring judgment, tact and diplomacy.
    • Able to work independently, and with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language in written and oral forms

    The salary range is $63,744 - $106,723. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
