Overview
Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences seeks a Research Technician to support applied and fundamental research projects in theĀ Marine Environmental Chemistry Laboratory, focusing on the environmental fate of oil hydrocarbons after oil spills and of PFAS.
This position will include planning and conducting of experiments, sample collection and preparation, GC-MS and LC-MS analysis (hydrocarbons, PFAS), and data evaluation and summarizing. The successful candidate will also carry out data handling and organization (using spreadsheets and R), and perform instrument maintenance and laboratory upkeep. This position may include occasional fieldwork and instruction of interns.
This position is offered for an initial 12-months period, with continuation depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with demonstrated experience, ranging from $42,00-60,000 per year, and comes with a generous benefits package including health care, retirement contribution, and paid time off.
