Collects, prepares, and tests samples and records measurements or observations. Being a Laboratory Assistant prepares reports detailing results and conclusions, applications, and methodology. Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment to ensure working order. Additionally, Laboratory Assistant assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials and the ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Laboratory Assistant work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Laboratory Assistant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking to hire an undergraduate or graduate student, with at least one year of school remaining, to support cybersecurity continuous monitoring, cybersecurity engineering, and cybersecurity supply chain risk management for secure systems at the Huntsville, AL site. The student role duration is from hire, while enrolled at least part-time, up to 6 months after graduation.
Responsibilities to include supporting recurring continuous monitoring tasks, such as weekly system auditing, completing system configuration scans/checklists, cybersecurity tools monitoring, and other tasks as needed.
