The Office of Labor Relations (OLR) is currently recruiting for a Labor Relations Specialist to join the Labor and Employee Relations team. The position may be filled at any of the following levels:
About the Office of Labor Relations :
The Office of Labor Relations negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements; manages joint labor-management initiatives and programs; oversees processes that address workplace disputes; coordinates disputes and appeal procedures involving non-bargaining unit employees; manages the County's relationships with labor organizations and the general workforces; provides early intervention strategies in workplace disputes; implements personnel policy and personnel regulation changes; maintains and analyzes demographic statistics.
About the position:
An employee in this class is responsible for the administration of County and union grievance procedures, review of adverse actions for merit and procedural compliance, and provides guidance and assistance to County employees and managers on a full range of labor/employee relations issues.

The ideal candidate must have a willingness to effectuate change. This candidate will be able to draw on prior experience working in a labor and employee relations role to help the Office of Labor Relations build a model labor relations program from the ground up. In their day-to-day engagements, this candidate takes an interest-based and collaborative approach with the County's union partners as well as other stakeholders.

Minimum QualificationsEducation : We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field.
