Additionally, Labor Relations Director typically reports to top management. The Labor Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Labor Relations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • This position works to accomplish assigned tasks involved in the Industrial Relations function and supports the overall implementation of procedures and systems related to Industrial Relations in the context of a predetermined plan. The position requires an advanced understanding of the functions of the Industrial Relations group and their overall application to the contribution of the company as well as mentoring Industrial Relations specialists. This position is able to take full responsibility for own work (and that of others where applicable) with a fully acceptable standard achieved routinely. This role is able to deal with complex situations holistically with confident decision-making. • Support the implementation of procedures and systems related to Industrial Relations • Provide mentorship to Industrial Relations specialists in relation to all Industrial Relations functions • Perform administrative duties related to Industrial Relations management and practices including but not limited to such tasks as conducting/coordinating Area Labor Market Analyses (ALMAs), Project Execution Plans (PEP), Industrial Relations plans and supervisory training • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines • Other duties as assigned• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly relate experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations • Moderate public speaking, presentation, training, teaching, and writing skills • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner • Effective oral and written communication skills • High critical thinking/reasoning ability• Perform both routine and complex tasks for the Industrial Relations function • Responsible for two (2) or more elements within the Industrial Relations function • Interface and build relationships with groups inside and outside the organization (other departments, business groups, projects, vendors, associations, labor organizations, etc.) • Maintain records, reports, or documents that are necessary in providing support to the implementation of procedures and systems related to Industrial Relations • U.S. citizenship
