    The Director, Group Medicare Sales and Labor Relations sells health insurance and related products to new large group accounts (generally 300 contracts) and leads the Labor Relations team. The Director, Group Medicare Sales and Labor Relations requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

    The Director, Group Medicare Mid-Market Sales & Labor Relations leads a team that sells health insurance and related products to new group accounts with up to 3,000 enrolled members.  In addition, they will lead our Labor Relations team, ensuring effective alignment and partnership with our Sales associates to drive consistent growth for the Mid-Market segment.  This role requires an in-depth understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

    This role fully understands all product lines, helps our sales executives sell to targeted clients, and supports the mid-market team in identifying potential new clients across the country.  Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. In addition, this role would be pivotal in developing and supporting Group Medicare sales strategy.

    Role Essentials

    • Bachelor's Degree or Relevant Experience
    • 5 years prior successful sales experience in the health and wellness solutions industry working with large group segment brokers, employers and/or unions
    • Active health and life insurance agent license
    • Excellent broker/consultant relationships within assigned health and wellness solutions
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Entrepreneurial and self-sufficient mind-set
    • Ability to travel regularly, by land and air, throughout the United States

    Role Desirables

    • Master’s degree
    • 10 years of business-to-business sales and/or labor relationship experience
    • Experience selling Medicare Advantage products
    • Experience working with labor organizations

    Additional Information

    • Preferred location – Eastern or Central time-zone with some flexibility to accommodate those in other time zones

    • Travel: up to 30-50% travel with possible overnight stays

    • This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance 

    • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

    • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  

    • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

    • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


     

    $120,900 - $166,200 per year


     

    This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
