  • JOB SUMMARY:   The Marketing / Communications Director is responsible for the activities of the Marketing / Communications team, develops department budgets, policies and procedures and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the bank’s internal and external marketing and communications initiatives, including but not limited to; advertising, brand management, data analytics, strategic planning/designing/development/directing of marketing campaigns, digital platforms, employee communications and coordinating public relations messaging with the President.    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:   Four-year degree in Marketing or Communications and knowledge of more than one major area of banking similar to what is acquired through an accredited graduate school of banking; advanced Marketing or Communications degree preferred A minimum of 12 year’s experience in Marketing / Communications and or Public Relations is required (5 year’s experience in banking is preferred) Previous management/director of a Marketing or Communications Division/Department is expected Proficiency in interpersonal communications, verbal and written, is required Strong PC skills in Microsoft Word, WordPress and a digital communications platform like MailChimp are required; Adobe Suite and video editing experience is helpful Experience in management and content development for social media platforms and related scheduling software including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Social Pilot is preferred Familiarity with data analytics tool like Google Analytics is preferred Strong organizational, team leadership and time management skills are required Good public speaking skills are required   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS:   Job Performance Behaviors: Contributing to organization success, job effectiveness, relationships and customer satisfaction.     Oversees day to day operations of the Marketing Division. Supervises staff and leads in the creation and development of short- & long-term goals, objectives, and priorities for the bank’s marketing, market research, branding process, web page, advertising and public relations messaging.      Develop and administer policies and procedures for the bank’s marketing business development, advertising, internal communications, security and public relations messaging.    Assist in the profitability analysis of our customers, products, events, and promotions.        Specific Duties In consultation with Senior Management, develops short- and long-term goals, objectives, and priorities for the bank’s marketing, business development, advertising, market research, and public relations functions.  Participates in management meetings. Managing the branding process (includes internal/external communications, managing the vendor process, identifying target markets and sales strategies, etc.) Leads Social-Media Advisory Research Team (SMART) taskforce, which meets quarterly to review internal and external communications with staff representation from all bank divisions. Supervise regular review and management of the web site (graphics, contents, design, etc.), social media platforms and other digital content Leads creation and development of internal communications, including weekly staffing updates, quarterly, anniversary announcements, quarterly internal Communications newsletter, break room signage and, collaboration with the Advantage Committee, staff events Develops and administers policies and procedures for the bank’s marketing, business development, advertising, employee communications and public relations functions Hires and supervises Marketing /Communications staff.  Oversees day-to-day operations of the Marketing / Communications Division Develops and administers budget for the Department Referrals for Incentive/Sales Plan   Performance Expectations/Measurements Meet or exceed project target dates or promotional deadlines Present reports to senior management and the Board with timeliness and accuracy Maintain excellent interpersonal relations with all contacts     SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Track our product performance, review external competition and utilize market research to develop promotions or product improvements to extend product lifecycles. Oversee and coordinate all media buys and offers guidance on promo item selection and logo production. Assist in the profitability analysis of our customers and products.  Base events and promotions on this information.
