Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Characterization Facility Integrator to work in our Characterization department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off.
The Characterization Facility Integrator coordinates with internal/external customers, and other support organizations to ensure optimization of facility resources and equipment. Support the development and analysis of performance indicators to optimize facility and equipment use, and resource allocation in support of research work completion.
Responsibilities Include:Responsible for technical comprehension and collaboration of engineering, research programs, maintenance, and operations for all phases of program work in nuclear facilities.
Coordinate the efforts of S&T schedulers, principal investigators, and instrument scientists and document/report to facilitate efficient execution of short- and long-term decision making.
Coordinate material transfers to facilitate research activities in relation to instrument schedules.
Work with Principal investigators and instrument scientist to ensure activity readiness prior to the start of the activity.
Assist in facility planning for future years by developing schedule are resource outlooks.
Pursue training and professional development opportunities that maintain proficiency.
Ensure that data and analysis generated by the instruments is of high quality and meets customer and user needs.
Communicate with Instrument Scientists and users to ensure detailed and consistent transfer of information and analysis.
PR0300/PR0400 - BS degree and 5-8 years of experience
Relevant experience:
Experience with current state-of-the-art instrumentation and techniques in the area of electron microscopy or other complex materials characterization systems.
Experience with scheduling software and strong knowledge of laboratory/research activities
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
